Helpline Anxiety

Is my Cob getting all the nutrients he needs?
I understand that if you add supplements it can knock the precious balance of feed nutrients. He is a good doer, 14.1 and a Cobx Welsh I think? He is ridden daily for about twenty minutes, but I’d like to build this up so I can hack for hours. We only walk or trot around the village.
He has a scoop of happy hoof every morning, with about two hours turnout a day. Its hard to tell the amount of hay he consumes, as he shares the courtyard with my miniatures, and we can’t do haynets as the seeds would fall into my shetland’s eyes.
Does the Happy hoof have enough oil and garlic in to prevent flies and keep his joints healthy?
This is embarrassing but I can’t ring Dengie helpline as I have an anxiety about talking on the phone.
Hi , I use Good Dooer and I know that this contains vits and mins that the horse requires. None of the feeds that you can buy really give any protection from the fly issue, you will have to invest in a fly mask and fly spray to help with this, with regard to the joints my blacksmith tells me to use ordinary vegetable oil and add this to the feed, as it will do the same job as the supplements but at a fraction of the cost. How much does your cob weigh this is a good sign to see if they are getting enough feed, but it does sound like you are going to build him up slowly so that you can do more with him which is good, the only thing is they do really need a least a day off from work a bit like ourselves just to relax and be a horse. A friend of mine uses Happy Hoof so I will check it out for you,any other questions email me as can not really cover all the issues on this site for you, hope this little bit of info helps
