How can I get over my anxiety before practice?

Daray asked:

Whenever I have to go to practice for sports, I get extremely anxious and nervous beforehand. My anxiousness caused me to quit football last year, since I couldn’t stand to be that nervous everyday, but I really regretted quitting. I plan on trying to play again this year, so can anyone please give me some suggestions to help get over my anxiety?

I’ll share and you decide what information is helpful.
    Be in the moment.
    Live in the now.

I had anxiety about work. I am an excellent worker. I work hard in everything I do. But I had a huge anxiety about going to work. I couldn’t explain why I had anxiety, but I did.

So I spent 3 weeks working on my anxiety.
My anxiety was strong from the moment I woke up at 6am until I started work at 8am. For two hours I’d have anxiety.
So I started my morning differently.
I did affirmations as soon as I woke up, and before I went to bed. I did this for 3 weeks. And it worked. I worked in being in the now. Enjoying the time now and not worry about what may be.

    I hope this helps.

It is probably a combination of things that are causing you to be this way. A good indication is how you feel about yourself and your prospects for the future, emotional support, and your ability to accept criticism. There is a lot more to controlling anxiety than “think good and all will be perfect.” Often people have an unrealistic impression of themselves and life in general and this gives them anxiety and stress. I take it you are high school age or younger and this age is very hard to control your feelings.

I commend you for wanting to reach out and get control of this situation but it will take a lot more than anyone can write in this medium. There is generally a lot going on in cases such as this and if you want some ideas drop me a message.

    Good luck
