i start to feel really dizzy, like i need to get up, short of breath, so i start breathing really fast, my hands get really cold, i feel like i am going to die. and they happen out of nowhere… help i just had one @ work…almost called the ambulance. and this is not my first time. there is nothing bothering me for this to happen..

Sounds like more than a panic or anxiety attack, Go to the doctor.
Sounds like me…
The panic attack is a signal your body receives to enact your fight/flight response. Adrenaline is dumped into your blood stream and you feel an irrational, impending fear.
A couple of things can trigger these; mine come from a low-grade depression that makes me susceptible to the panic response. Other folks get them because of a perceived high stress item.
While nothing may be bothering you consciously, it’s likely that the sum of everything happening in your life is taking its toll. Make sure you’re taking good physical care of yourself. Get plenty of sleep. You’ll also find that some form of exercise works wonders. I especially find that it helps when I’m in the middle of the attack. A brisk walk always helps (it doesn’t cure it, but it helps).
Prevention comes usually in two forms – medication and therapy. I found for me, the combination of the two works best. I’m on a medium dossage of an antidepressent called Effexor XR and have participated in therapy for about 6 months. Ever since I’ve started that, I’ve had some close run ins with panic, but have not have a full blown attack in some time. Contact your family doctor and have him make a referral to someone who can help you channel your stress and teach you how to avoid the attacks.
Good Luck
