How do I stop my Chinese cresteds fear of other dogs?

I ♥ Pie asked:

She is even afraid of dogs smaller then her like pomerainians and yorkies evan though she was born around other dogs in the home of a great breeder. She loves people but is terrified of other dogs. I tried to socilize her with a playfull pomeranian but after a while she started geting fear-aggresive and shows her teeth and barks and growles. How to I get her to stop being afraid of other dogs?

I dont know the answer to your question but if you watch the program “The Dog Wisperer” you may be able to find the solution.

    Hope this helps

My Crested is fearless but he is the alpha dog and boy does he know that. Of course my will show his teeth and growl at my other two dogs because he is jealous and doesn’t want another dog to get attention that could be his. Also Cresteds are more of a lap dog and mine generally doesn’t like to play with other dogs that much he will play with toys sometimes but for the most part he just wants to sit in your lap and be loved

These are gorgeous little babies. I feel so bad for her ’cause I know it must be miserable for her. If you know anyone with a dog that would ,literally, totally ignore your dog ( their dog not them) visit them often. Your dog has to see that they are absolutely no threat to her.She has probably been terrorized by another dog at one time. Maybe when she was just a pup. You may even have to start with a true to life statue or stuffed animal(dog), Anything barking and bounceing around is going to be scary even though it may just be acting friendly to y’all. I hope this helps her. As always, my advice is to more then anything else, be patient !

    I have a crested too!

I dont have this problem with him tho. He is ussually pretty sociable with other dogs his own size.. he can be kinda iffy about bigger dogs.
