We all have fears, and getting rid of them can be difficult. For one, firstly just interact with small dogs, then go to the bigger ones. In my opinoin, it’s like getting rid of the fear of heights, and if you get yourself used to being higher and higher you get better. Hope that helps.

Try going to the petstore and letting the puppies lick your hand through the cage for starters. :) Once you are confortable with that build up from there

Who says you have to,.Maybe its good to have some fear, especially since you had a bad experience.People are so obsessed with overcoming their fears, when they should just understand its normal to be afraid of things,it keeps your guard up..

it probably won’t ever go away but you could try…
1 meat a small dog (maby a Friends dog) that you know is nice & trustworthy
2 after you have gotten dused to the small dog meet a dog that is a little bigger
3bigger …. until you are comfertible arond all dogs (but don’t get to comfortable) kuz all dogs have a wild side!!!

The only way that I know is to be around them and get use to being comfortable with them. Start with dogs that are small and unintimidating and move up from there.
A fear of dogs can be awful because they are everywhere so the sooner you deal with it the better.

My bf had a bad experience as well and he is fearful but we literally started out small. We just bought a toy fox terrier but before purchasing, I went to a reputable breeder who insisted I bring my bf along to visit. He was given the opportunity to go and sit with these little dogs of a variety of ages and found he has fallen in love with our little guy. But it was a bit of a struggle. Visiting the breeder dogs who have been bred for good temperament and in a controlled environment can be a courage booster. Or at least that is the story for my bf, he still fears large dogs but loves our tft and it is a step in the right direction. Baby steps… Try finding a controlled environment with small, well trained and behaved dogs.
