know the triggers, follow up with your psychologist, and avoid caffeine.

    Xanax.

I have brain cancer and am hypoglycemic. Both are causes, but the brain cancer caused my issue to be much more severe. Still have them, but Xanax keeps me from wanting to jump out a 5 story window ;) I still sometimes get tunnel vision, sweats, trembling, get lightheaded, etc. and have to leave the room or building if there is a crowd (stores, family events, etc.), but it is better than it was. At one point I couldn’t be in the same room with 2 or more other people.

I used to have them all the time.

I read about some holistic remedies and they really helped me.

    Here’s what I did:
Quit caffeine. No more energy drinks, coffee, or soda.
    Quit eating anything “diet”.
Eat all natural, organic food when you can.
    Drink only water

Artificial ingredients, preservatives, and all the chemicals that make food “low calorie” are poisonous to some people. Sensitive individuals experience panic attacks, migraines and a whole bunch of different, random symptoms.

    Sleep well
    Exercise
    Take a multivitamin everyday.
Drink a cup of green or black tea every day.

Take care of your body and it will take care of you. Detoxify your system so you can heal. A balanced diet will allow your entire system to relax, which will end the anxiety.

Volunteer somewhere – get out of the house and help people how ever your interests move you.
Take up something new. Stimulate yourself so that your system doesn’t have to do it for you. Dance. Sing. Paint. Do something.

Interaction with other people has been proven to change brain chemistry for the better. Trying new things and helping people lifts your spirits and floods your brain with endorphins which is the natural remedy to anxiety.

I had my first anxiety attack about thirteen years ago. I had gone almost 25 years without even taking an aspirin. I never smoked. I never drank. I never did drugs. I was not overweight, but I was STRESSED. I thought I was a big loser because I prided myself in not taking any kind of medication, particularly for mental or nervous disorders.

The causes of panic or anxiety attacks are NOT the same for everybody nor is there one thing that will work for everybody

My two partners were physicians and they told me it was stress related. Another medical practitioner told me I was suffering from adrenal exhaustion and did some things which seemed to totally reverse it. I was on Xanax for about six months but I started riding bicycles 10-20 miles a day religiously which seemed to help me de-stress. These attacks came out of the blue and they left out of the blue. I also stopped drinking near as much caffeinated beverages (Dr. Pepper was my caffeine of choice at the time). I started listening to calming music, burning incense or having essential oils around. I also drank a lot more water. I also started doing yoga.

Whatever the source is, I feel your pain. I’ve had minimal attacks in the past thirteen years. I never was able to isolate anything that would trigger one. They seemed arbitrary. I just know that by paying closer attention to my body, exercising, minimizing things that could possibly stimulate like caffeine and practicing activities that de-stressed me, I’ve kept these to a minimum.
