I have just been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and I’m sick of it. I’m scarred to take any medication for it (was prescribed with Celexa on Wed and haven’t taken it yet.) All I want to do is have fun with the guys again like I used to. You know just kick back and have a few beers. What should I do?

Take your medication, this will help your anxiety.
There is no reason why you cant have a couple of beers once you are a bit better. I am on 5 different meds for bipolar and my psych has told me I am allowed a couple of drinks only. Like two glasses of wine and a spirit and mixer.
If you are worried about drinking on your meds ask your doctor. But I think a couple is reasonable.
Your medication will help your anxiety and help you go out with your friends again.
Sometime though drinking a lot can trigger anxiety. I have discovered that if I go on a drinking binge (which i have done twice), it makes me super anxious for days after. So if you do drink more than a couple just bear that in mind.

i understand how u feel dude and even though im not old enough to drink yet though….like i have terrible social anxiety, and i want to interact with people agian. i think u should take it. it might make you sick at first, like nauseated and tired, but it might help. theres no way to know unless you try it, it wont kill you.
