I suffer from social anxiety to a point where it effects my social life. I have trouble making and keeping friends. Sometimes when I am outgoing it comes off as flirt and that just make everything worse. I don’t believe in medication, any other advice is most appreciated.

    Practice by talking to yourself

You just need to vocalize your thoughts more. Talk out loud rather than having an inner monologue, even when by yourself. Get used to the sound of your voice. Make a conscious effort to talk more. I’ve the same thing, but make sure your doing this because you want to, not because you think it’s the correcting of a problem. Some of us prefer shydom.

I know what you’re going through only difference is when I try to be confident I seem like a snob. The way I’ve been trying to overcome it is not backing out facing my fears and thinking that I don’t want to look back on my life and wish I’d overcome my social fears and had a better life to look back on
