Those are just 3 of my most severe phobias. But the problem is, I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to face the clowns, or I’ll have a breakdown, and going to a real whirlpool I don’t think is very logical and may just scar me for life, and being chased will only freak me out. What do I do?

Yes.
Systematic desensitization (i.e., exposure with response prevention) is the most effective, scientifically tested method for treatment of phobias. If necessary, the treatment (exposure portion) can be “virtual” rather than in vivo.

welll whirlpools u can forget about because what r the chances ull have to go into one. and clowns are just normal pple in a stupid costume that do stupid trickss- just face ur fears
They say facing your fears eventually will desensitize you to them.
I would advise the help of a therapist.
It sounds like you are generally a fearful and anxious person. That may just be a part of your temperament. Check out Keirsey’s website -. You are probably and Idealist. Their “Achilles heel” or weakness is being a fearful, anxious, worrier.
If fear and worry are dominating your life so that you cannot live, check out the Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety -
The ultimate way to get over fear is to replace it with trust and confidence in God.
Yes there is ….
As has already been mentioned … desensitization is one way to overcome fears/phobias. And if you have lots of fears/phobias … then there maybe something else that is a root cause of your anxiety. The biggest challenge with desensitization is that people avoid it because they know they are going to have to ‘face’ their fear.
However, there are also some other very effective means of dealing with fears, anxiety, and phobias. I am not including in this list the medical approaches either (i.e. anti-anxiety medication).
1. Psycho or Hypno analysis
2. Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) derived approaches
3. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
4. Hynposis
5. Energy derived approaches such as Emotional Field Therapy (EMT)
At one point I was helping 5 to 10 people a week with phobias with a combination of 2 and 4, 5 and sometimes 1 – with excellent, long-term results. I’m just letting you know this so that it encourages you to go and seek out help from a therapist who works with phobias on a regular basis.
All the best on your quest!
