are the side effects of lexapro suppost to go away after the body gets used to it?

i have started 5 mg of lexapro two weeks ago, i have days where i have massive headaches and stomache aches and general weakness and fatigue. mouth kinda dry also. my anxiety and depression arnt as bad but still there and i know i have to give the med about a month. anyone else experience these side effects when first taking the medication?

Yes.

Drink more water. That should help quite a bit.

5mg is a low dose. If you are seeing some improvement, I would stick with the Lexapro and let the Doc increase the dosage.

BTW — Lexapro tends to have the fewest side effects of any of the SSRIs. So, I’d give this one a good solid try before moving on to something else.
