Is Lexapro good for anxiety?

Never taken meds before! I seem to be haveing alot of anxiety lately. Is Lexapro good and is there any weird or bad things I should know about 5 Mg Lexapro?

I’ve been on lexapro for about 4 yrs or so and im doing okay with it ,better then some of that other crap thank GOd!!!
I to take it for anxiety at times!
