My Social Anxiety (part 1)
This is my introduction video to my Social Anxiety vlog. I have had Social Anxiety my whole life. Anxiety runs in my family so most of my anxiety is biological. I watched a few other YouTube vlogs of people with Social Anxiety and it inspired me to make my own. My Anxiety was about 3/10 when making this video. The symptoms of my panic attacks include: dry mouth, blushing, shaky hands/legs, rapid heart beat, rapid swallowing, eye watering, butterflies in stomach, sweating. Of course when all this is going on it makes it difficult to carry on a conversation, or even make eye contact. It’s a very panicky feeling and I instinctively search for a way to get out of the situation. At the time of making this video, I had just failed out my first semester as a sophomore in college. The anxiety got too high for me to handle. This is when I decided I needed to start a recovery plan. I found a therapist to talk to, but I had a lot of difficulty speaking because of the high levels of anxiety I had during the appointments. So YouTube was a way I could express myself better and still face my anxiety at the same time.

i hav social anxiety real bad but i can jus say fuckit in some situations an another thing be yourself!dnt forget that!!!
hey Rich. i feel ya! i can’t go a day at my part time job without feeling HORRIBLE anxiety and all the pains that come with it…my problem is i have generalized anxiety disorder as well as social anxiety, so i’m anxious almost ALL the time….just at different levels. it sucks….
from personal experience I would advice anyone woth SA not to use alcohol (or weed I didn’t use) as you’ll be more anxious if in a situation where it’s unacceptable to be under the influence. After I stopped I felt a lot more confident and at least able to deal with the problem directly even though it’s still there, there’s also medication of course
I can really relate to a lot of what you spoke about. I’m 41 now.

ya know one day im sure weed will be legal. all these people arguing for it and how good it is…. hmmm..im 17 and have some kind of mental disorder.. most likely SA. i can nvr be myself at school. im always nervous and shit..
The weed actually does help. I have the same thing. I am a physics major and find that it does effect my capacity for ‘high order reasoning’. I’m sure since your in CS you’ll have similar experience. It helps me maintain healthy circadian rhythm and brings me into the moment.

i have been checking out quite a few sa vids recently and have found my case to be similar to yours. idont have depression but suffer mild to moderate anxiety in social situations. please keep the vids coming. they have definitely helped sa sufferers including me.

Hey man i just want to thank you for putting up this video. i just want to tell you superlive88 that i was going threw the same thing i would tremble look at people and quickly looking away. but anxiety is caused over a long period of worry i never noticed so much but lookin bac i worried alot. and when that anxiety comes w/e you do, do not fight it jus let it come through and keep going because it feeds off your fear. you must not give this anxiety any respect. also dont pity yourself
