Natural Anxiety Remedies For Cats

Natural Anxiety remedy for nervous cat?
My cats is just a big ball of anxiety. She always has been. I have tried everything to make her more comfortable…bought her toys..given her a special place in the house. We have two chocolate labs and sometimes one of them chases her but usually it seems like she does even care that they are there…and they never hurt her since we raised them all together since they were little. Anyway, she has litter box issues (peeing right beside the litter box instead of inside it) and losing her hair in clumps sometimes….this has come and gone over the years but right now it is really bad. I have tried to do whatever necessary to make her life comfortable but I am running out of answers. The doctor wants to put her on anti-anxiety meds but I cannot give her any meds unless I want to get scratched to death (tried last night but have scratches all over my body now so I will not try that again).
anybody know any good natural remedies that are easy to administer?
You can try Rescue Remedy, a liquid that you either put in their water or on their paws so they lick it off. There is also Calm Down! for cats – I tried their product for dogs and it was great. Also try Feliway diffusers.
I had a problem with a scaredy-cat peeing on my bed. I did everything – I mean everything – to stop her and nothing worked. Finally I put a catnip scratch pad she likes on the bed, and suddenly she stopped. It was like she needed a Shelley Happy Spot. All to say they’re very individual and it can be the craziest thing that will calm them down.
Be sure you are spending lots of time loving her away from the dogs. Both my timid cats took more than a year to finally chill out.
See if the meds are available in liquid form, or if you can crush the pills and put them in her food. If you need to give her pills, hold her by the scruff so her front weight is off the ground. In other words, not high enough to have to support all her weight, but enough to immobilize her. You can also try wrapping her in a towel during the torture. Good luck with that, and make sure you use antiseptic on the scratches!
