Does anyone else have social anxiety in school?
Whenever it is the first day of school I get really really nervous going into a new class with lots of people I don’t know. I literally feel frozen and afraid to move. Usually once I get to know everyone I am more comfortable but the first few days are always hard. Also Whenever I take a test I also panic and freeze. Even if I study really hard I still get super nervous during the test and start sweating and become very uncomfortable. And of course when I do a presentation in front of class I become very anxious and sweaty. I know I don’t need drugs I can beat this but someone please point me in the right direction. I started doing this online cognitive behavioural therapy and hopefully it will work, but I think it just feels better knowing somebody else goes through the same thing and everyone CAN’T be as comfortable as they look…
WOW! I did when I was in School. I got tested and did have an axitety disorder. The nice thing about it, you can get help. I had the same thing with tests as you. I remember being able to answer all of the quesitons before the exam. Then I would get hot and blank out. With proof of me haivng a disorder I was able to go to the Learning aid center on campus and take my tests in a private room. This way I could take deep breaths and calm myself with out making a fool of myself.
The way I over came Axiety with new people and taking was completely submurging myself in people. I took a part time job at a store which forced me to talk to people and get over it..
Breathing and imagery in my head helped the most.. Relax be yourself I am sure you will find many have the same anxieties as you!
