what causes a panic or anxiety attack when there is no external situation?

to instigate it.
in fact, this morning has been *more* relaxing than i’m used to except the inescapable knots in my stomach that and tachycardia…sweaty palms. a panic-y feeling…

but why????

What you are having is called an adrenaline dump. It’s when you body dumps an excessive amount of adrenaline into your system.

If you can get up and pace or go outside and try to walk the excess adrenaline off.

I have a panic/anxiety disorder and I know how this feels. Get your body busy to burn all this excess out of your system.
