Panic Attack Help

Is there any foods or vitamins that can help you during a panic attack?
I have panic attacks and I used to take Xanax. Is there a herbal supplement I can take that will help me feel calm without passing out?
A panic attack is the body responding to a trigger with a “fight or flight” response. The body releases adrenaline, and that is what makes you feel panicky, like you want to jump out of your own skin, and makes your heart race. The body WILL release a chemical to allow the body to relax again, but the whole process of a panic attack will last about 15 minutes. Once it has started, there is nothing you can do except remember that it WILL pass, and everything will be ok.
If you feel a panic attack coming on, see if you can change your immediate situation and find a quiet place to take some deep breaths and try to calm down. For instance, I know that a long car ride can trigger a panic attack in me, so I make sure I sit in the front seat and the driver knows that they may have to pull over to allow me to get out and walk around a bit…
My doctor prescribed Ativan to take ONLY when I feel a panic attack coming and I can’t control it myself. It is low dose and has not had any bad side effects for me. I haven’t had to take it often, as just knowing that I have it helps me to feel more calm.
