Psychology Anxiety Disorders
What is the difference between a psychiatrist and social worker?

I’m just curious, because to me it seems that they do the same sort of thing (help out people with problems… / be a councellor), but you have to go to University / College for either Psychology, or social work.

I know in psychology you can do clinical stuff like anxiety disorders, addictions councellor, etc… but yes.

Thanks!

A psychiatrist is a doctor with additional studies to become a doctor in Psychiatry. A psychiatrist prescribes medication for their patients and it also able to treat disorders such as schizophrenia and psychosis.

A social worker helps people with addictions but also helps: families in need of housing, budget counselling, teenagers with issues and so forth.

Yes, both can help with anxiety disorder and addictions, they just have different methods in treating their client/patient.
