try your guidance counselor at school or maybe a youth center in town?

I think you should tell your parents. I mean, if you have social anxiety you’re gonna feel anxious even more talking with some stranger. Your parents will be able to encourage you and help you out.

You can go to your school counselor or even talk to your friends. I’m sure that they could help expand your social network. I know where you are coming from; I’m socially anxious too, but it’s very fixable. Good luck! =)

You should tell your parents…not only are they the ones who can give you the most support, but social anxiety is often hereditary, one of them might have it too.

I have social anxiety too, and so does my mom and grandma. I feel better when I can talk to my mom about how social anxiety affects me, and learn that she’s felt exactly the same way.

Also, talk to the school councelor…it’s not really the best help, but, hey, it’s free. If you do have $$, it is good to look up a professional.

Read up on how to overcome shyness and slowly start putting yourself in social situations where you can use the tools you’ve read about to “cure” your social anxiety.

Go to your guidence councellor. They can get you where you need to go.

I have a friend who is going through this right now. When his father found out, he just yelled at him and told him it was all in his mind and did nothing about it but belittle him. So I understand why you wont tell your parents, it’ o.k. So many people have these symptoms. He just went to the Dr. and was prescribed Paxil (axiety medication) and now is doing so much better, almost like a new person. Why not ask your Dr. what he suggests for you. Good luck! Don’t be scared, we’re all here from you.

Anxiety is a huge problem, I have struggled with GAD, gerneral anexiety d/o for a while, it makes life hell, and it did not help my depression or mood d/o at all. You learn to cope, but its not a fun life, ever since i started anexiety meds its been so much better, be careful tho, i really got addicted to klonipin and valium, but xanax extened release is amazing and lasts for 10 hrs
