How do you motivate the “running person” inside you ?
i love to run . But unfortunately i think i have a low energy immune system . i get sick very easily . I have suferered depression social anxiety panic attacks and recently discovered i have add. I don’t know if i am getting sick due to Psychosomatic reasons ( in my mind ) . But i do get sick easily and often . But every time it happens i pick myself up and i run again The problem is i wait too long to start it again because my brains doesn’t want my body to put my health in jeopardy again so soon. But i want to reduce this “get-better” time as much as possible (if i make any sense …)
what are the best ways to motivate the runner in me? i know a couple , like join a runners forum in the internet , buy the runners world magazine , what else is there . i am comparatively a new running enthusiast.
Can you give me some tips please?
i don’t love running, but i still run 3 – 4 times a week. i’m running because i want to keep fit, look good and stay healthy. but knowing what i want doesn’t really motivate me to run.
i set a target of 1000 miles this year. i break it up into 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days and i work towards my target. so if i lag, i’ll have to run harder next week. if i met my target, i’ll reward myself with some fattening food hahaha… i created an excel workbook to keep track of it and do all the calculations for me. maybe you want to try this method?
