My advice to you, take as many classes/activities outside of school that involve speaking in front of people as possible. You can also sign up for an acting class or music class that involves singing or playing an instrument in front of people. All of these things will work to make you more relaxed and confident. If you do it outside of school, you don’t have to worry about embarrassing yourself in front of people you are going to see all the time.

From my experience, the only way to beat that kind of thing is to face it head on. I get really nervous and self conscious when I talk in front of a lot of people too, but usually the anticipation and the beginning is the worst. For example, I’ve done 10 minute speeches before where I was really nervous at first, but by the end, when I was taking questions, I was as calm and confident as possible.

Hello you
First of all I’d like to say how it pleases me to see another person with Social Anxiety who has the courage to post a video like this. You are a beautiful girl who seems to be intelligent and nice! I too suffer from SA and it can be a nightmare sometimes. I can see myself in all of the three stages you talk about! Hit me up, I’d love to talk to you “privately” on messenger or something. Maybe we could help each other? Best regards!

School is hell at the moment, just doing anything like speaking infront of people is just torture. Does it get worse with age?

ure so right.. I just consider anxiety a problem, not a disorder.. terming it a disorder makes ppl comfortable sitting in it and life runs by.. one would have the anxiety one way or another so better to make the best of it sometimes…
After getting used to an environment, it tends to decrease so its quite worth it attimes..

I know social anxiety is a problem, but never i repeat NEVER let it stop you doing things you want to do. I had crippling Social Anxiety for years, then applied to a drama school. Its that “Feel the fear, but do it anyway” and do this day i still have Social Anxiety. Never let it stop you from things. Remember, SA is like a little LIAR! in your mind, it lies, it always lies, it over exaggerates. ITS STUPID! and your SMART!
