Fast Heart Beat Diagnosed as Anxiety?
My brother who is 16 going on 17 in one month woke me up in the middle of the night saying his heart was beating too fast I told him to drink some water buy he presisted and said he can feel pain in his left arm. I called the hospital they said call 911. The doctor said the numbness was from him sleeping on it, he failed to mention “it moved to his neck”, now i am no doctor but I know that the test that they preformed will only show his current state and not his state before we arrived at the hospital? Is this something I should worry about ?
I live in TX where many children have died due to heart faliure. No he does not play sports or any known allergies but we do have family history of Asthma and Diabetes (father)
I had the same thing when I was a lot younger (now I’m 48). My heart would beat so fast, that I thought I would pass out. I was diagnosed with SVT (super ventricular tachycardia). This is where you actually have an extra heart beat. After trying to treat it with medication, they ended up doing a heart ablation. They went into my groin with catheters and went up into my heart and brought my heart rate to heart attack rate, then burned out that extra heart beat. I have been fine ever since then. I know it is scary for him, because it feels really weird to have your heart beating so fast. This is nothing to fool around with. I would suggest that you go to a different doctor if he is continuing to have this problem. Probably a cardiologist. That’s where I ended up going after the emergency room of the hospital! Best of luck to you all!
