► cli.gs what is Agoraphobia? Agoraphobia can be defined as an inappropriate fear of situations that expose the sufferer to large crowds, public scrutiny, open spaces, embarrassment or traveling away from a person or place of trust. The dictionary definition of Agoraphobia is ‘fear of public places’ but this definition is too narrow… the affects of Agoraphobia on the sufferer can be far reaching. Agoraphobia IS NOT a Phobia! Agoraphobia is a symptom of an underlying anxiety condition and not a stand-alone disorder or phobia. Agoraphobia causes sufferers to limit their activities and is often responsible for the breakdown of normal routines that have a knock-on affect through every aspect of their life. Agoraphobia has been needlessly responsible for job losses, breakdowns in relationships and other potentially life-changing issues. But I can show you you can very quickly take back control and do what myself and my clients have done without exception using my agoraphobia elimination technique. Journey out of Agoraphobia is a 5-part audio program which I recorded as I used a method, that I developed, to finally overcome my agoraphobia. Take Action! & Click Here cli.gs

I have a major fear of vomiting which has lead to phobias of car travel and agoraphobia. I am increasingly stressed And depressed- the last thing I need is a holiday. I can’t tell my family about this; I don’t know how they’ll react and it’ll ruin it for them. What should I do?

I am not a typical perfectionist, if I am one at all. I count and regimate the calories I consume from food (800-1000), won’t eat “bad” food, count my alcohol drinks (4-5 per night), work out 30-60 minutes per day. I’m a painter and all my friends are musicians, artists, writers and drunks. I am too. I am just the only one obsessed with being “perfect”. weight must never exceed 99 lbs, always look pretty, always be reading a new book, always keep the house clean- but not too clean, always be listening to a newly discovered artists’ cd, always be “into” a new painter or outsider artist, etc. Maybe i’m not a perfectionist; maybe i’m just flippin’ weird.

i do have panic attacks from time to time, by they are usually pot-induced so i’m not too worried about that.

Honestly, this doesn’t sound like a perfectionist, just someone who is overly concerned what others think.

Anxiety attack or panic attack?

I have a mild condition of OCD where Im scared of dying. I also have a mild condition of hypochondria that ties in with the OCD. I have pretty bad anxiety, and when I cry, if Im crying because I got overwhelmed with anxiety I start hyperventilating. When I hyperventilate, once Ive calmed down I get pins and needles in my legs, but it feels 10x worse than what it would feel like if your leg had fallen asleep.
Today I was watching Obsessed, and they explained a panic attack. When I hyperventilate I always call it a panic attack but what they described in the show was different and I tried googling the difference but I was having a hard time finding what I was looking for.
1- Whats the difference between a panic attack and an anxiety attack and what am I having?
2- Whats the pins and needles in my legs after I hyperventilate?

The answer to number two is usually lack of blood circulation or lack of oxygen due to hyperventilating of heavy sobbing and stress.
The answer to the first is that anxiety attack and panic attack are about the same. Now general anxiety is just a feeling of anxiousness or being really worried like circular thinking all the time. Panic attacks make you feel like you are going to die and you panic and your heart races and your breathing is heavy and you usually crawl up into a ball and want to not live.
I hope you get help and feel better, I for one care for I know you are not just another avitar on the computer screen, therefore I remain,

I’m 13 and I have a really really bad anxiety disorder. I have the fear of dying and it’s getting a little out of hand. I get the anxiety symptoms (I hope they’re anxiety symptoms…) which are like dizziness, faint, dry mouth, trembling, nausea, and so on, which only make my fear of dying even worse. I try breathing exercises but they seem to not help at all. Can someone help me here???

Teens have anxiety in their lives, and like adults, they can suffer from anxiety disorders, too. Death anxiety is defined as an abnormally great fear of death, with feelings of dread or apprehension arising when one thinks about the process of dying or what happens after death. Fear of dying, dizziness, faint, dry mouth, trembling, nausea are symptoms of extreme anxiety.

Counselling can help you with anxiety disorder, and everyone around you, to understand that anxiety disorder symptoms are caused by an illness with complex genetic and environmental origins–not by flawed attitude or personality. Counselling can also reduce the impact of symptoms on daily life. A variety of psychological interventions can be helpful, and you should discuss your particular needs with your clinician to determine which psychological treatments could be most beneficial for you

School-based counselling can be effective in helping you with anxiety disorder; navigating the social, behavioural, and academic demands of your school setting. Individual psychotherapy is generally recommended as the first line of treatment for adolescents with anxiety disorder.

Talk to your school counsellor or your parents, which of the two you feel more comfortable. You have to do the first step, before it gets worse. If left untreated, anxiety disorders can have severe consequences and may lead you to serious health issues.
Make the first move!
