Is FEAR a necessary part of all our Lives?

Fear is a painful emotion caused by danger or thought of danger. it is a necessary part of life. as courage puts life in danger, fear preserves it.
Fear is not to be ashamed of, it is a protection against risks and prompts us to take action when life is in danger. for eg., if a man slips and falls in the middle of a busy road, the fear of being run over by a …

Recommended Hypnotherapists in London?

I am suffering from chronic Anxiety Disorder. I recieved a small amount of cognitive treatment on the NHS but that was about three years ago and I still suffer from it to this day. A friend recommended I try going to a hypnotherapist. However, most of the ones I have seen are quite expensive, and I don’t want to go to someone who will hypnotise me into giving them my PIN number!
Can anyone recommend any trusting, effective (and possibly cheap) hypnotherapists in the London area, preferrably in …

Lexapro for anxiety.. PLEASE help!!?

I was prescribed 10mg of Lexparo daily about a week ago. I just took my 7th pill. I feel better but I don’t know how well it is working. I only get nervous when I go out with friends. I read on Lexapro’s website that it takes 1-2 weeks to feel results & 4-6 weeks to reach the full treatment. I’m flying April 5th and I’m terrified. Do you think it will help me by then?? I’ve also been having diarrhea. Will this subside?
Please leave feedback …

Does anyone else get anxiety when they drive? What dont u like about driving?

Yes I worry about if the other person is paying attention, I hate it when I have my blinker on the highway singling that I want to move into the next lane, and people do not slow down or nothing they just speed by. Also I do not like driving besides large tractor trailers, city buses, or the worst (becuase they are huge and more frequent on city roads out here then tractor trailers) tour buses. I just …

Is what I get sometimes an anxiety attack?

Sometimes, when I feel really stressed (i.e. something bad happened that day to me like if I got an F on a test or something) I almost feel like I’m on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I can’t think straight and say or do things I normally wouldn’t do (not too crazy things but like say something to my boss I normally would never say). My blood pressure skyrockets immediately though I’m not sure if my heart rate increases.
Is that …

Medical Marijuana VS anti-depressants for anxiety/panic attacks?

Doctor offered option of lexipro/zoloft for my anxiety, but several friends of mine have marijuana club cards and claim it keeps their anxiety down.
I would like to avoid social stereyotypes of smoking marijuana but would also not like to put a damper on my mental health by taking prescription drugs with bad side effects
any input thanks

you have to weigh the prescription drugs side affects against lung damage from smoking and heart disease.

Anxiety in Pregnancy along with Agoraphobia ?

I’m 24 weeks pregnant now with my first child I suffered with Panic/ Anxiety disorder since I was 18 and was put on zoloft. I am 24 now and have come off the zoloft seeing a lot of specialists about how it may harm the baby. I’ve been having a rough time with this pregnancy with severe morning sickness, now I’m afraid I’ve become agoraphobic because I can’t get out much. Has anyone else had to deal with this whilst …

Is it possible for Anxiety to go away?

Is it possible for it to go away without any medication?

I have had it for years and years. I never took a single medication for it. I have found little tricks that work for me. Everyone is different though some people truly need medication. I find I cope knowing I never took it although many times it is overwhelming. You should see a doctor in any case because there are many things that can help you.

In what way does hypnotherapy assist sufferers of anxiety and phobias?

Has hypnotherapy been proven to assist in the reduction of generalised anxiety, in sufferers of anxiety and panic disorders? Could a hypnotherapy session potentially be frightening, to an anxious person?

Yes hypnotherapy can assist in calming down and overcoming anxiety and phobias.
My sister had a phobia of driving after she had a bad accident and hypnotherapy helped her to overcome it.
Perhaps if it sounds frightening, you can start with self-hypnosis. Take some hypnotherapy course either through …

What are the best ways of treating anxiety and panic attacks besides exercising or using any drugs?

I want to know if there are any other “cures” for anxiety attacks besides exercising, and using drugs. I know therapy is supposed to help too, but anything else besides those things?

Anxiety is self-created.
Nobody imposes anxiety. It is neither inherited.
It is you, who have loaded heavy anxiety on your small head. Unknowingly you must have added the weight slowly. Now the weight is more and unbearable. You should now know how to unload that …

What is the best way for me to deal with my anxiety?

I have anxiety/panic disorder, agoraphobia and a touch of separation anxiety, mixed in with a whole bunch of paranoia. I’ve mostly come to terms with living with it, but it’s really starting to affect my fiance’s life as well.
He can’t go out with friends unless he promises to be home before midnight (I have a phobia of the dark too), I get panicky when I have to go to the mall without him and because I can’t drive, he …
