Now we’ve been together for almost 4 years and every day gets harder because of his A.D.H.D., bi-Polar, Anxiety, oppositional defiance and anger issues. I’ve tried getting him into therapy and he takes medication but does not follow other guidelines that the therapist has set forth. He is the most sensitive, devoted …

I am also researching the medications used to treat the above. Do you know through possibly your own research, some sites and/or info that will be found useful for me?
Please give any and all information you know
– Thank you!

I don’t know a specific site, but if you would like an alternative to investigate, try looking up ADHD and food intolerances. This can cause the ADHD, …

Is anxiety treatable by a general doctor, or would I have to go to someone psychiatric?

All my gastrointestinal problems are caused by anxiety and its bringing me down. I’ve always been reluctant to get anxiety medication because I’m a senior mechanical engineering student and I fear it will hinder my higher thinking. Will it? Will a regular doctor give me the medication?

This would be treated by your Doctor with medication and possibly with a referral for some CBT. It is very unlikely a psychiatrist or a mental health team would …

Is there anyone left that’s not on some sort of daily medication?

Everyone is on medication these days. Depression, anxiety, sleeping pills, weight loss pills, etc. I feel almost out of it for not taking anything. Why can’t people get by anymore without popping pills?

I’m not on anything. Of course, back when I was an addict, I think I had enough stuff running through my veins to last me many years!
I’m with you on the pharmaceuticals! It’s humorous (and sad) that we have a “war on drugs” …

Am I just stupid or is there something else wrong with me?

I enjoy reading, but I suck very much at it. I am 17 years old and I am literate. I suffer from the disorders Asperger’s Syndrome Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Major Depressive Disorder, if any of that matters. I simply struggle so much to read novels (i.e. memoirs, fiction, mystery, etc.), but less so with reference books (i.e. atlases, encyclopedias, etc.). Of all the novels I have ever read, I’ve clearly understood about 5 of …

If you don’t mind sharing. What medication(s) are you taking?

I’ve had a long drug trial for depression and anxiety (a few years) that mostly ended in frustration. There were 17 (ones that I remember) different drugs and a few of them I tried a second time. My doctor consulting with a few known hospitals including the Mayo Clinic. It was a very long road. This was spread over a five years. I have to give my doctor credit with never giving up on me. …
