I begins with deep rooted fears. The cure has to do with identifying them and confronting them. It also involves building your confidence and self esteem. Read more in this book: “The Feeling Good Handbook” by Dr. David Burns:
The book gave me the power to overcome depression and many other mental obstacles. I now look forward to my day and enjoy meeting new people. It’s great!

I would say that “life” causes a person to have social anxiety. Don’t ever believe that people are better than you. In fact that is what should be on your mind when you go out in public. Good Luck.

I don’t know the cause. It could be a lot of things. I’m introverted, and so was my dad, so maybe it’s genetic. I do know that the more you socialize, the more social anxiety gets easier to live with. The hard thing is getting out there. … Here’s something that helps me sometimes: In a social situation, instead of focusing on myself and wondering if I’m doing everything right, I focus on the other person. People usually like to talk about themselves, so I ask questions about him or her and try to keep the conversation going. Sometimes that helps, sometimes it doesn’t, but if I fail in a social situation, I make sure to try again. … I’m sure I’ll always be anxious, but things got better with practice.
