Aimela asked:

I have been taking zoloft and klonopin for anxiety for a while and I think it is no longer helping enough. I am thinking of switching to a different ssri and ativan (instead of klonopin). Any suggestions on what the best med is for generalized anxiety disorder. Thanks!

Try smoking pot. MUCH less dangerous than the drugs you are taking now.

Im on Zoloft and its working for me but everyones different. Paxil works and Lexapro does too. Smoking Pot helps but can make it worse and its stupid

Don’t out-guess the doctor, but you can help him/her by working together. First, if you’re not being treated by a pscyhiatrist [especially an Orthomolecular Psych], that’s what you need (an Internal Medicine Doctor is not equipped to do you the best job.

In your case, this means talking with the doc about how you are not reacting well to your medications.

You are correct that meditation can help you relax, bu it will not cure you. Beware of cults; ask your local librarian to refer you to the right books. Read about meditation & try what you like. If that works, OK! (If not, ask a health-store about someone who does meditation).

    Jut do it! Good luck!:)

I had great luck with Effexor XR 150mg. It’s used for GAD and also depression. Minimal side effects, and it didn’t make me feel out of it. I just felt more like myself. I took it for about a year after I went through a divorce and it helped me tremendously.
