Why would a doctor order a blood test if you went in for anxiety/panic attacks?
Today i went to my GP and he gave me 50mg of zoloft and 1mg of lorazepam.
he also order a blood test? What was that for?
Most likely to test for an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism). This can cause very similar symptoms to anxiety/panic attacks. He might also check for low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia) as that can make people feel strange and shaky, etc. Neither of those things are very common, but it’s just something the doctor has to rule out before treating your anxiety. Best to ask your doctor though!
